Digital Sufficiency A knowledge platform that shows why “enough” is good in the digital world too – with data you can see and feel.
Digital sufficiency asks how much digital we really need. The knowledge platform structures the topic in four dimensions and tells it with data you can see and feel: numbers that tick up and pixel shapes that grow like data volumes.

Concept, wireframes, UI design and a clickable prototype, worked out using software sufficiency as the example. Developed from January to March 2024 in weekly meetings.
Important, but abstract
Challenge
More connected devices, AI and huge amounts of data drive up data traffic and with it energy demand: from 100 GB per day (1992) to 150,000 GB per second (2022). The topic has many sides, so the platform structures it in four dimensions: hardware, software, usage and economic sufficiency.
Every dimension in three steps
Idea
Fact: a number that sticks, as a counter and a growing data landscape. What we mean by it: principles in plain language, such as data economy or energy saving by default. Join, follow, inspire: research papers, videos and PDFs for further reading. The three steps sit as tabs along the edge of the screen and are always within reach.
Reduced, so the data can speak
Execution
Grotesque and monospace type, pastel surfaces and pixelated shapes that grow like data volumes. From research, mood boards and wireframes to the clickable prototype, several variants of the data visualisation emerged: as a landscape, an explosion and a mountain range over the years.
