Editorial & infographics

Annual reports, magazines, brochures and data visualisation – print and digital from one hand, so that numbers and stories are understood.

Why reports need design

An annual report has two audiences: those who read all of it, and those who want to know in three minutes what mattered. Good design serves both – with a clear structure, key figures you grasp at a glance, and stories that explain the numbers.

Every number needs a sentence, every sentence needs a place.

I do not design the report twice. I design it once as a system: the same grid, typography and graphics for the printed edition, the online version, the press release and the presentation. Since 2018 I have accompanied the digital annual report of a large Swiss cooperative this way.

Infographics and data visualisation

Complex relationships – a strategy, sustainability targets, a value chain – become a graphic family: one logic, many outputs. The result is graphics that speak the same language in the report, on the website, on social media and on slides, and that can be updated with new values every year.

What it brings

  • Clarity: key figures and relationships are readable at a glance
  • Consistency: print, web, media work and presentations from one mould
  • Speed: templates are ready before the figures are released, the rest is filling in
  • Reuse: graphic families and templates the team can maintain itself
  • Bilingual: German and French or English in the same grid

How I work

  1. Inventory: order content, figures, chapters and audiences
  2. Structure: define dramaturgy, page types and graphic logic
  3. Design: grid, typography, key figure modules and infographics
  4. Production: print files, online version, assets for media and social
  5. Continuation: templates and a short guide so next year goes faster

What you get

  • Annual report, print and online from one grid
  • Brochure or magazine through to the printer
  • Infographic family, 5 to 10 graphics
  • Presentation master
Duration
Report 10 to 16 weeks, brochure 4 to 6 weeks
Production
Design, typesetting and print data by me, print supervision included. Printing costs billed directly by the printer.
